Thank you for expressing your interest in a menu and mealtime review.

The Commission and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (department) are continuing our joint delivery of the free national Menu and Mealtime Review Program for approved residential care homes (homes) in 2026-27. Up to 300 Menu and Mealtime reviews are being made available.

Expressing your interest
You can express your interest to take part in the 2026-27 Menu and Mealtime Review program by filling out this form. Expressions of interest will remain open from 31 August to 21 September 2026.
Expressing your interest does not guarantee that you will receive a Menu and Mealtime Review. Homes that are selected will be contacted directly by our contracted supplier, Plena Healthcare, to schedule a review.

Prioritisation and eligibility criteria
We will prioritise expressions of interest from homes that:
• deliver services under the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) Program
• have a score lower than 3 out of 4 based on the average participant response in the Residents’ Experience Survey question, “Do you like the food here?”, or have no score because they are a new or recently transferred service
• are in small rural towns, remote communities and very remote communities
• are smaller homes (with 60 residents or less)
• are small providers (1-2 services) and medium providers (3-10 services)

Please note that approved residential care homes will be excluded if they have already participated in the program in previous rounds and have not had a provider change since their initial review.

Waitlist
We will open a waitlist once our expression of interest period is closed. If there are still places left, a small number of homes that don’t meet the above criteria may also get a review.
